There is no excuse for an “accidental” pregnancy. The fact we accept it so happily is why our society has so many problems. It’s deeply irresponsible as was the case with my mother and father having me.

A man should be responsible for his actions, which was my point. But how can he be when society takes away his rights and responsibility away?

“Child support doesn’t come from a place of greed on the woman’s part” is a generalization, which I agree with. I was just talking about a girl on this issue though. She said in South Africa women PURPOSELY drink alcohol so their baby will have a birth defect and they’ll therefore get more government money. Humans are naturally self-interested. We can’t pretend like we aren’t incentivizing bad behavior because of our good intentions.

Thanks for the thoughtful disagreement.
