That’s a fair point. In the end it is a spectrum. I think stubbornness is a powerful tool. It can be used for great good in the case of Gandhi (I’m writing an article about him now) and great evil as was the case with Hitler, but in the end to be great one needs to be stubborn. With that said, most people aren’t striving toward greatness. Most people just want to be happy, which in that case they are probably better served by being flexible.
