I think it’s a bit of both (cop out I know). How to decide where is an interesting question… I think for the vast majority of people they’re better off looking to build skills in areas that are in-demand. Life will be easier and you’ll feel more needed rather than trying to compete in an overly crowded market where if you disappeared tomorrow you might feel like no one would care. There is always room in overcrowded markets but you just have to work A LOT harder.
