I strongly disagree, "The best American health insurance is a one-way plane ticket."
The best healthcare in the world for those who can afford it is the U.S.
Idk much about Latvian healthcare but the first Google result said: "The Latvian healthcare system is a universal programme, largely funded through government taxation. ... It was among the lowest-ranked healthcare systems in Europe, due to excessive waiting times for treatment, insufficient access to the latest medicines, and other factors."
Much of the world's healthcare is built on the back of American medical innovation. The answer is MASSIVE deregulation of the healthcare market so that it can be even more innovative faster like we saw with the COVID-19 vaccines. The problem with the US system is it has become too socialist where over 65% of American healthcare is taxpayer-financed and overregulation is the main problem. Free the U.S. healthcare market and we'll end aging in a generation; continue to socialize it and at best we'll get better at rationing.
